Trivia[]

In September 2021, Mo would be sentenced to 17 years in federal prison after being convicted for federal charges which involved organizing a Ponzi scheme which saw 20 people who invested in his trucking business defrauded between March 2013 and May 2020, and also for committing bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution in relation to his lying to United Community Bank to get a business loan through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) by using the COVID-19 pandemic to apply for such a loan. This loan, which even led to his arrest in May 2020, was not meant for business pandemic relief like Mo how alleged, but rather for paying off expenses which were documented he spent through the money he obtained from defrauding the 20 investors for over a more than 7 year period. He was revealed to have used the embezzled money that was supposed to be invested in his trucking business to instead pay his own personal debts, which included child support, and also fund his "extravagant lifestyle," which included the establishment of a personal $5 million gambling account at the Choctaw Casino and Resort in Oklahoma, expensive jewelry and a highly expensive Rolls-Royce Wraith automobile.https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/love-hip-hop-atlanta-star-maurice-mo-fayne-sentenced-17-n1279433 https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/13/us/maurice-fayne-arrest/index.html https://www.gamblingnews.com/news/reality-tv-celeb-sentenced-to-prison-for-fraud-tied-to-massive-casino-deposits/#:~:text=Fayne%20Wired%20Illegal%20%245%20Million,and%20Resort%2C%20located%20in%20Oklahoma.
