Momma Dee is a major supporting cast member on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. While starting the series as a major antagonist, she eventually becomes an anti-heroic protagonist having her own storylines during the show.

Starting as a major antagonist in season one, it chronicled her meddling in the relationship with her son, and Erica Dixon, with a confrontation with Dixon, claiming she "left her son for dead". Her disapproval of their relationship, cause her to court Shay Johnson, to no avail to break the two up. Season three, she attempts to mediate Scrappy's relationship, and causes friction with his new girlfriend Bambi.

Starting season four, she remarries her ex Ernest to the horror of her daughter, and Ernest's mother. Season five, and six deals with the struggles of their marriage, and Dee's struggles with alcohol. She ignites a one-sided feud with Shirleen, and eventually with in-law Cece. Season nine, Dee has a health scare, and continues her feud with Cece, performing a fake eulogy at a restaurant.

Momma Dee returns later on in season ten as a major antagonist accompanying Judy Harris to Dubai, where Judy plans on making amends with her son Mendeecees, and his wife Yandy. Judy reveals to Dee that their initial ceremony Dee attended was fake, and Dee confronts Yandy (to her dismay) in Dubai which causes tension between her and Judy. She also has another confrontation with Bambi, after it's revealed by Sierra Gates, Benson was contemplating a divorce from her son.

Momma Dee appears in a major role on the first season of Family Vacation, and attempts a one-side romance with Trick Daddy.

Before Love & Hip Hop[]

Momma Dee is the mother of Lil Scrappy, Originally from Brooklyn, New York. She is a former madam and drug dealer who ran a brothel for ten years under the name "Lady Dee". In addition to Scrappy, she has a daughter, Jasmine Brown, and is also the cousin of Yung Joc.

Love & Hip Hop franchise (2012–present)[]

Momma Dee joined the supporting cast of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta in 2012 and is one of the show's original cast members, serving a similar role as Mama Jones on Love & Hip Hop: New York, as the show's eccentric, overbearing mother meddling in her son's relationships with women. The first two seasons chronicle her strained relationship with Scrappy's baby mama Erica Dixon and her mother Mingnon, as she plays matchmaker between Scrappy and Shay Johnson. In season three, while Scrappy is dating Bambi, she plays matchmaker between Scrappy and Erica Pinkett, igniting a violent feud between the two women.

Dee's own love life is explored on the show from season four onwards, after her ex-husband Ernest Bryant joins the cast. The two rekindle their romance and remarry in the season finale. Her and Ernest's marital struggles serve as the show's comic relief through seasons five, six and seven. In season eight, she clashes with Bambi's mother Cece, as they prepare for the birth of their grandchild.

Since 2014, Dee has achieved relative success as a pop singer, releasing the viral singles "I Deserve" and "In That Order".

Dee also appears in three episodes of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta: After Party Live!, in a cameo in Leave It to Stevie, while attending Stevie's opening, and in the specials Dirty Little Secrets, 40 Greatest Love & Hip Hop Moments, The Wedding, Joseline's Special Delivery, Dirty Little Secrets 2, The Love Edition, Love & Hip Hop Awards: Most Certified (where she won the Mommy Dearest category) and 40 Greatest Love & Hip Hop Moments: The Reboot.
