Somaya Reece is a main cast member on the first two seasons of Love & Hip Hop: New York and one of the show's original four cast members.

She also appears as a supporting cast member in season ten.

Before Love & Hip Hop

Somaya Reece is a Salvadoran-Puerto Rican recording artist, originally from the South Central area in Los Angeles. She endured a rough childhood, including an abusive relationship with a teenage boyfriend, and a stint in a gang where she was stabbed and shot two times. She rose to fame as an urban model and through her relationship with rapper Joe Budden, who she dated in 2009.

Love & Hip Hop franchise (2011–present)

In 2011, Somaya joined the cast of Love & Hip Hop: New York. The first season chronicles Somaya's move to New York City and her struggles to kickstart her music career. She ignites an intense feud with Chrissy after pursuing Jim for a musical collaboration. During the season, she and her manager Maurice get into a war of words with Olivia and her manager Rich. Somaya was phased gradually out of the show during season two, with the finale showing her packing her bags and moving back to Los Angeles. During the second season's reunion special, she confronts series creator Mona Scott-Young over having her storyline cut out, memorably calling her a "bitch".

Somaya does not return in season three, although she was mentioned by Erica Mena after she accuses Olivia of being disloyal to Rich for posing in a picture with Somaya at an event.

Somaya appears uncredited in season one of the spin-off Chrissy & Mr. Jones, where she is seen attending Chrissy, Emily and Talia's fashion show, as well as in season two of Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood, where she is seen attending Nikki, Princess and Milan's fashion event.

Somaya returns in the special Love & Hip Hop New York: Dirty Little Secrets to discuss her time on the show, the only original cast member to do so. She reportedly filmed scenes with Lady Luck, her girlfriend at the time, for the show's eighth season, however their scenes never made it to air.

After a eight year hiatus, Somaya will return to Love & Hip Hop: New York in season ten, however in what capacity has not been confirmed by VH1.
